Layers of PossibilitiesAmong the many layers of plans and studies that influence the future of Fort Monroe is an effort by the National Park Service Working Group. The group is looking at all possibilities of how the 570-acre military base might operate, if only in part, as a national park. The group is expected to give a full report in July to the Fort Monroe Federal Area Development Authority, which has control over the future of the base once the Army vacates in September 2011.
