Special thanks to Mr. Anthony Solstys, our first supporter of the Freedom Flags at Freedom’s Fortress program. Mr. Solstys (center) was presented the flag that flew over Fort Monroe by Nia Lissimore (left) Event Program Coordinator and Glenn Oder (right) Executive Director. Flags over Freedom's FortressThe flag on the flag bastion at Fort Monroe was flown for almost 200 years while the Army occupied the Fort. The Fort Monroe Foundation and many local citizens would like to keep this tradition alive. With your support, the American flag will continue to wave proudly on the Fort Monroe flag bastion reflecting our proud Fort Monroe and American Heritage. About the ProgramThe Fort Monroe Flag Sponsorship Program was developed to provide the citizens an opportunity to show their pride in our Country and the rich history at Fort Monroe. Each flag sponsorship donation to the Fort Monroe Foundation allows flags to fly on the flag bastion over the Casemate. The fort is now open to the public and with your donation the Fort Monroe Foundation can continue to keep the flag flying on the bastion every day. Flag Donation Program DetailsIn recognition of your generous contribution, the Fort Monroe Foundation will notify you in writing when your flag is flying over Freedom's Fortress.
