Fort Monroe's Casemate Museum

Located on Fort Monroe, in Hampton, Virginia, the Casemate Museum is located within the largest stone fort ever built in America. The museum features the cell of captured Confederate President Jefferson Davis and many other exhibits about Fort Monroe and the Coast Artillery Corps. Admission is free. Completed in 1834, Fort Monroe is one of the most historic attractions the Army has to offer. It is the largest stone fort in America, as well as the only one surrounded by a moat. The fort is open to the public, unless there is a security check in progress. Within the fort is the Casemate Museum, which gives a history of the fort and features Jefferson Davis's prison cell, Robert E. Ship's Store: Offers boating supplies, fishing bait & tackle, fresh water, salt water and boat fishing licenses, snack foods, beer, wine, soft drinks and ice, souvenir T-shirts and hats. We will gladly special order boating parts and supplies if items are not in stock; often we can offer one-day turn-around. Bait: Bloodworms, minnows, night crawlers, shrimp, and squid (when available).
Fuel Dock: Offers gasoline and diesel fuel at prevailing market price. Pumped by marina staff.
